On Thursday, April 24th, Amanda Rosen presented her honors thesis research entitled, "Optimizing Segmentation in Cervix Images Captured with Multiple Devices". Rosen's research in our lab was guided by PhD student Lillian Ekem (pictured below), GWHT Assistant Director Megan Madonna, and GWHT Director Nimmi Ramanujam.
Since Fall 2024, Amanda has been contributing to our lab's work, developing image quality tools for automatic cervical cancer diagnostic algorithms. Most recently, she helped develop a method to predict shadow areas in images from multiple devices. She presented this work at the Biomedical Engineering department-wide poster session last week. On May 11, Amanda will graduate with departmental distinction!
